Foundation First Aid is an 8-hour basic first aid course, ideal for home and low-risk workplaces. The Foundation First Aid course includes the following NZQA Unit Standards. 

• US 6402 (v9) Provide Basic Life Support: Covers life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest, unconsciousness, choking, severe bleeding, and shock. Includes scenario-based and written assessments.

Note: CPR requires kneeling beside a manikin. Please inform us in advance if this may be an issue.

• US 6401 (v7) Provide First Aid: Covers recognition and management of common illnesses (asthma, heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, seizures) and injuries (burns, fractures, soft tissue injuries, poisoning). Includes scenario-based assessments. 

Revalidation First Aid renews your current first aid certificate (or expired less than 3 months ago) and keeps you up to date with the latest first aid practices, refreshes your knowledge and assesses your techniques through scenario-based training. Includes scenario-based and written assessments.

Note: For CPR assessments, students must be able to kneel beside a manikin on the floor.

You can renew your certificate with City First Aid, regardless of where you originally trained. If your certificate was NOT issued by City First Aid, please provide proof of its expiry date when booking—either by email (info@cityfirstaid.co.nz) or by bringing the certificate to class.
