These courses combine online learning with an in-person practical session. Complete the online portion at least 4 days before attending the in-class practical.

E-Learning – New Zealand First Aid
Unit Standards 6402, 6401, and 6400
(Approx. 4 hours online + 8 hours practical in class)
Recommended for those who work outdoors, in remote or high-risk areas, or enjoy adventurous activities.
Topics Covered:
- Provide Basic Life Support (US 6402): Cardiac arrest, unconsciousness, choking, and severe bleeding.
- Provide First Aid (US 6401): Recognising and managing common illnesses and injuries.
- Managing First Aid in Emergency Situations (US 6400): Managing complex injuries and medical conditions
E-Learning – Foundation First Aid
Unit Standards 6402, 6401
(Approx. 4 hours online + 4 hours practical in class)
This course is ideal for those seeking basic first aid skills for home, low-risk workplaces, or general preparedness.
Topics Covered:
- Provide Basic Life Support (US 6402): Cardiac arrest, unconsciousness, choking, and severe bleeding.
- Provide First Aid (US 6401): Recognising and managing common illnesses and injuries.
E-Learning – Revalidation
(Approx. 4 hours online + 3 hours practical in class)
For those with a soon-to-expire first aid certificate, this course refreshes and updates your skills. Complete the online component within one month of the practical session.
Renew your certificate with City First Aid, regardless of your original provider. If your current certificate is from another provider, please provide proof by uploading it during booking, emailing it to info@cityfirstaid.co.nz, or bringing a copy to class.
Note: For CPR assessments, students must be able to kneel beside a manikin on the floor.less
