Revalidation

Time Commitment: 6.0 hours in-class practical

This course renews your current first aid certificate, updates the latest in first aid practices, refreshes knowledge and assesses techniques through scenario-based training.

You can renew your certificate with City First Aid, regardless of where you originally trained. If City First Aid did NOT issue your certificate, please provide proof of its expiry date when booking—either by a screenshot emailed to info@cityfirstaid.co.nz or by bringing the certificate to class.

Foundation First Aid

Unit Standards: 6402 and 6401 
Time Commitment: 8 hours in-class practical

This course is ideal for those seeking basic first aid skills for the home, low-risk workplaces, or general preparedness.

Topics Covered:

  • Provide Basic Life Support (US 6402 v9): Cardiac arrest (including CPR & AED use), unconsciousness, choking, severe bleeding (including the use of a tourniquet) and shock
  • Provide First Aid (US 6401 v7) – Recognising and managing common illnesses and injuries.

Course Requirements

This course, including all written, verbal, and practical assessments, is conducted in English. CPR assessments involve kneeling beside a manikin.
